Description
My Grandmother would have been 117 on Dec 3, 2011. She emigrated from Melhus and Soeberg in Troendelag, Norway, at the age of sixteen, all the way to Chicago, Illinois, where she found employment as a maid and community among the Norwegian immigrants. Here she met and married Bjarne Lund. Thus began our generational emigrating back and forth across the Pond (\"Dammen\", the Norwegian-Americans\' fond name for the Atlantic Ocean). My mother grew up in Chicago. I grew up in Norway. My kids are growing up in North America, mainly Canada. Many profound journeys have been made elsewhere, in the between times, but these be the main clan anchors. We all have clan anchors. Who are yours? If you wish, my grandmother can intercede with them, or serve as a guide for you, as she does here, in that dream-haze, just beyond the frame.
